How to Submit a Testimony

  1. Go to the Kansas Legislature website. Locate the committee that will be hearing the bill by searching or by looking under the “Committees” tab. Tip: You can also search the bill number in the “Find Bill” dropdown and the committee hearing the bill will be linked on that page.

  2. On the committee’s page, click on the link for their “Committee Documents.” Click on any document that has “conferee” in the title (often called “Conferee Guidelines”).

  3. Consult this document for that committee’s particular requirements for submitting testimony. Most committees require two days notice of your intent to testify and for an electronic copy of your testimony (in PDF format) to be submitted 24 hours before the hearing.

  4. Refer to this document for a suggested format when writing your testimony.
